Outfit | Pixie

So I got my hair cut and at first, I really hated it because the woman cut the sides really oddly, but the more I see it, the more I like it. This is actually the shortest I've ever had my hair and it feels really nice. My head feels lighter and I feel like I look more my age. Also, apparently, I look really good with the cut. I thought I looked awful but people were telling me that it looks nice and really suits my face. I always thought that because I had a round face, I'd probably look a lot rounder than I'd like to. Luckily, that was not the case.

Outfit | Raspberry Tops

Since my hair has grown into this medium length mess, I've had days where I really dislike my hair and days where I'm just barely tolerating it. Luckily that will change because on Thursday (or today since I'm posting it Thursday morning), I will be cutting my hair into a Carey Mulligan-inspired pixie. Originally, I was going to go with an Emily Browning-inspired pixie but I didn't like the look of the bangs so Carey Mulligan was my second choice. I'm so excited (as mentioned in the past few posts) to have super short hair again. People used to tell me I couldn't do it because I have a round face and you know what? That's stupid. I don't care. I'm going to chop my locks off and enjoy having a light head and having to not worry too much about hair styling. Besides, whenever I did get a pixie or anything a tad longer, people complimented me so whatever to those people who said my full face would look awful with a pixie. Pixies may be thought of in regards to waif-ish, fae-like girls with pale skin and angular features but those kind of girls aren't the only ones allowed to have the pixie. I've seen plenty of women in all shapes and sizes with pixies and each and every single one of them has rocked that style and looked amazing. So there. Rant over.

Outfit | Lavender Dots

I just got these lavender tights a few months ago and the first time I wear them out, I already get a snag. Awful. I'm usually better with my tights and I was under the assumption that these "heavy-duty" winter tights were more durable. I guess not. Usually, Target-brand Merona, has tights that last forever and never gets snags and don't snag. Besides this pair, I have a mustard yellow pair that has a snag where my thigh is. Hit or miss. I do love these tights though. They're such a pretty colour and so fun. It's such a shame that when I got dressed, I was half asleep and barely paying attention to what clothing I grabbed and threw on. I had an essay exam to study for, so I got up early and went to the nearest library and studied there for a few hours before my first class. I was almost late to my first class cause of that and I'm fairly certain that all of that studying did not help. I was so completely lost and dead by the time I had to take that essay exam. All in all, this was not a good day for me. Even with Agents of SHIELD premiering and being amazing. I just want some hugs and kisses and some relaxation time. Also, new lavender tights. Gah.

Outfit | Laced Wine

It's so weird. I found this dress hanging buried between two of my more worn dresses and I realized that I had never worn it out. I bought this pair of red wine tights and thought, heck, why not? I love the colour combination of mustard yellow, red wine, brown, and creme. I think it's such a gorgeous and such an autumn colour combo. With it being the second day of autumn, I felt that it called for me to wear this dress for the first time. And I don't regret it. This has definitely become one of my new favourite frocks. It's such a nice lace and although the slip is a bit too slippery for my liking, it's comfy and I love the whole dainty, princess feel of it. I can't wait for it to get a bit colder so I can wear this out with my boots and a nice snuggly sweater. I'm way too excited for it to get cold. I'm also excited because I'll be chopping my hair off on Thursday. I'm so excited to have a pixie again! I'm excited to not have to worry about how my hair will look, I'm excited for how much faster I can get ready in the mornings, I'm ready for my thick hair to not be a problem for a few months, and I'm excited to somewhat resemble SNSD/Girl's Generation's Sunny again. Gah. You guys have no idea how excited for a pixie cut to grace my head. On top of that, the other day, I realized I had too many tights when I picked up a pair of tights from Tights Drawer #1 (I have two) and didn't even recall buying that particular colour so yep. I have a tights problem and I don't even care. I want all the colours and all the patterns and designs.

Outfit | Rainy Freedom

I love rain and rainy weather. I love cold and windy days. We had rain for the first time in weeks and it was proper rainy weather. There were thunder claps, cold breezes, and of course, rain. I loved it. I love getting all bundled up in tights and coats and sweaters and beanies. I didn't get as bundled up as I usually do since it wasn't TOO cold, but I did regret it when halfway through taking these photos, it started raining really hard. In the photos of me without my coat, it started out with light sprinkling and then it began to rain really hard so...uh, that was fun. I ended up dancing in the rain after I finished taking photos and didn't want to risk getting my camera any wetter than it was already. There's just something so fun and so mysterious about rain. I love it so much. I hope I don't get sick though. I DID dance in the rain for like ten minutes after....Oh man, I really hope I don't get sick.
(this is the moment when it started raining REALLY hard...yep. Good job face.)

Inspiration | Emily Browning

Emily Browning is one of my favourite actresses. It's a shame that she's rather unknown but she's starred in some of my favourite films (Sucker Punch, Sleeping Beauty, A Series of Unfortunate Events [If I think about this apart from the book series, I LOVE it, if not...eh], and the soon to be wide-released Plush). I've always thought that she's had this sort of fae-like beauty. She reminds me of someone who'd be a faery princess in some modern faery tale or something. On top of that, I think she's got this amazing sense of style that I've taken some style inspiration from in the past. Even in some of the films she's starred in, she always looks absolutely gorgeous in her clothes.

I do love the way she's styled at premieres and in photo shoots, but I absolutely adore her street fashion so this post has a lot of street photos of her since that's what I find stylistically inspiring. She always has such cute hair too and her makeup is usually really nicely done and compliments her features. She's just one of my favourites.
